The 38th ADFIAP Annual Meeting has been successfully held on May 13-15, 2015 in Nha Trang, Vietnam with the theme “DFIs & Sustainable Infrastructure: Policy Framework, Operational Best Practice and Challenges”. This year Annual Meeting was hosted by the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB). Over 120 overseas and local delegates from ADFIAP members, partner-organizations and invited guests attended the event.
BVDIF’s delegates attended the event included Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh, Director of the Provincial Finance Department – Vice Chairman of the Management Council, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nguyen, BVDIF’s Director, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Duyen, Deputy Director. It was BVDIF’s first participation in an ADFIAP official event since its membership approval in December 2014.
At the 21st Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly, three new ADFIAP members, including BVDIF, were introduced to the existing members and participants.
BVDIF delegates participated in the conference proper and other special interest presentations held at the annual meeting. In addition, at the Delegate-Meets-Delegate session, BVDIF representatives met Mr. Octavio B. Peralta, ADFIAP’s Secretary General. Mr. Nguyen briefly introduced about Ba Ria – Vung Tau province as well as BVDIF and its investment cooperation focuses. Also he stated that BVDIF would greatly appreciate the supports of ADFIAP and its members to investment cooperation activities in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. Furthermore, BVDIF’s Director suggested the Association to assist BVDIF in conducting a seminar on Public – Private Partnership (PPP) topic. The seminar would be a great opportunity for staff of BVDIF and provincial Department & related Agencies to acquire knowledge in PPP and learn from experiences of ADFIAP’s members. Mr. Peralta appreciated that BVDIF had actively participated in the Association’s activities and confirmed that ADFIAP shall provide favorable conditions for members to expand investment corporation network, share experiences and exchange information on matters related to development financing. ADFIAP shall work with BVDIF to plan and organize a seminar in PPP as mentioned above in 2015.
Attending the 38th ADFIAP Annual Meeting again affirmed BVDIF’s objective in the international integration with other development financing institutions in the region and in the world. It was a great opportunity for BVDIF to learn from the experiences of ADFIAP’s members in financing of sustainable infrastructure. Also it was a good chance to promote BVDIF image, thereby assist the Fund in seeking investment cooperation opportunities with other development financing institutions in the future.
